stiqr privacy policy
Last updated: September 17, 2026.
stiqr processes images, GIFs and MP4 videos locally in your browser. Files you select are never sent to any stiqr server, since the project has no backend. Nothing leaves your computer.
data collected
stiqr sends anonymous, aggregated usage events to Google Analytics. Just usage counters, never content.
This includes things like: the extension was opened, a file was loaded (and what type: image, GIF or video), a sticker was generated or sent successfully, how many files were loaded in a batch, and whether any of these steps failed.
It does not include: file names, image/GIF/video content, your WhatsApp number, contacts, conversations, or anything that identifies you. Events are grouped using a random UUID generated locally on install (stored via chrome.storage.local), unrelated to your WhatsApp account or any other identity.
Full technical details on which events exist and how they’re sent are in ANALYTICS.md.
stiqr does not collect, sell or share personal data, message content, contacts, images, GIFs or videos.
permissions and access
The extension only runs on https://web.whatsapp.com/*, to show the editor interface and hand WhatsApp Web the generated sticker when you explicitly ask to send it.
storage
The current version doesn’t keep a remote library or sync files. Temporary images and generated WebPs only exist in browser memory while you’re using the extension. The only thing that persists is the anonymous install identifier used for analytics, described above.
third parties
stiqr uses Google Analytics (via the Measurement Protocol) for anonymous usage counters only, as described above. No ads, no other tracking SDKs.
affiliation
stiqr is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by WhatsApp or Meta.
